How Much Does a CPA Charge Per Hour?

Chartered public accountants are in many ways the cream of the accounting crop, and they are capable of doing things that few other accountants would be able to fathom once all has been said and is now out of the way. The reason behind this is that they have access to in depth knowledge that can get quite technical, so suffice it to say that if you have any kind of high level accounting that needs to be done hiring a CPA can make it easier for you to do so than might have been the case otherwise.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, you might be wondering how much it would actually cost for you to hire a local CPA. After all, money is in short supply these days, and regardless of how beneficial a CPA would be for you, you would be understandably hesitant to hire one before you have a reasonable enough understanding of how much they would be looking to charge you. The first thing to understand about this is that CPAs usually charge by the hour.

As for what their hourly rate tends to be, it’s usually between $200-$300 for business owners and the like. One thing to take note of is that these rates can go up or down based on your needs, and you will also have to give them office space that they can utilize while they are conducting their audits which can potentially be an even bigger expense for you. However, we are of the opinion that hiring them is worth it since it can enable you to keep things running smoothly.
